For Rhodes to Symi, choose a sailing to SYMI for the main town, or PANORMITIS if the monastery is your intended destination. Dodekanisos Seaways publishes both and distinguishes the fast catamarans from Panagia Skiadeni. Its port guide assigns Dodekanisos Express and Dodekanisos Pride to Kolona on Rhodes; Panagia Skiadeni departs Akantia, also commonly written Akandia. They are not interchangeable boarding points. How long does the Rhodes to Symi ferry take?
The published 26 October Dodekanisos Express example has a 50-minute Rhodes–Symi town crossing. For a slower direct comparison, the 30 October Panagia Skiadeni listing has Rhodes 08:30 to Symi 09:55, a crossing of 1 hour 25 minutes. A sailing via Panormitis can take much longer to reach the town because the monastery call includes time alongside. These examples were checked on 26 October 2026. Compare the scheduled arrival at the destination on your ticket, rather than applying one crossing time to every vessel or date.

For Chorio, Pedi or Nimborio, arrange the onward approach rather than assuming the boat stops at your neighbourhood. Kali Strata between Gialos and Chorio is a long stair route, not a suitcase-friendly default transfer.
