A 14-day Greece itinerary with two islands
For a first trip, use Athens, Paros and Naxos rather than trying to fit four islands into two weeks. This 14-day plan uses 13 nights: three in Athens, four on Paros, five on Naxos and one back in the Athens area. It gives each island several full days and avoids making an island ferry the first leg of a same-day flight home. Shorter 7- and 10-day versions below keep just one island.
Route and season: what this plan assumes
The proposed ferry sequence is Piraeus to Paros, Paros to Naxos, then Naxos to Piraeus. Blue Star’s early-October 2026 notice documents those ports and both island directions, but it is a disruption notice, not a timetable for your holiday. No sailing time, fare or annual operating season is promised here. Confirm all three directed legs for the dates you choose. If the inter-island leg is not offered, keep a single-island version rather than forcing a detour.
Blue Star: dated Paros and Naxos corridor evidenceDays 1–3: Athens, three nights
Day 1: arrive, settle into your Athens base and keep the evening near your accommodation. Do not make a ferry connection part of this arrival day.
Day 2: make the Acropolis area the day’s focus, with time in the surrounding neighbourhoods. If entering a ticketed site, arrange its current admission separately; this plan does not assume walk-up entry or fixed opening hours.
Day 3: choose a different city day around Kolonaki’s museums and streets or Exarchia’s bookshops and cafés. Keep the afternoon flexible enough to organise the next morning’s port journey. Overnight in Athens on all three nights.
Visit Greece: Athens neighbourhoodsDays 4–7: Paros, four nights
Day 4: travel from the confirmed Athens port to Paros, transfer to your room and keep the rest of the day local.
Day 5: spend a village-and-harbour day around Naoussa. If staying elsewhere, make it an outing rather than changing hotels for one evening.
Day 6: choose a beach day at Kolympythres if conditions and your transport work, or use the coast around your own base. Do not assume a beach stop includes a guaranteed boat transfer.
Day 7: use Parikia and Panagia Ekatontapiliani as a town-and-history focus, with time left for a slow meal or a missed outing. Confirm any individual attraction’s access before planning around entry. Sleep on Paros on nights 4–7.
Visit Greece: Paros places and coastlineDays 8–12: Naxos, five nights
Day 8: take the confirmed Paros-to-Naxos sailing and settle in. Use Hora for an easy first look if your base and arrival time allow.
Day 9: explore Hora’s Venetian castle streets and the town rather than setting off immediately for the far side of the island.
Day 10: choose Agios Prokopios or Agia Anna for a sandy-beach day. Pick one beach area and arrange the return to your base.
Day 11: plan an inland outing around Halki and Filoti. Arrange transport that covers the return journey; the itinerary does not assume a bus frequency or a car hire booking. If you prefer less travel, choose just one village.
Day 12: keep a spare day for Plaka, marble-paved Apeiranthos or whichever earlier outing lost time to weather. Do not force both a distant village and a full beach day into this slot. Sleep on Naxos on nights 8–12.
Visit Greece: Naxos towns, villages and beachesDays 13–14: return before the flight
Day 13: return to Piraeus on your confirmed sailing and stay in the Athens area. Choose the night’s location around tomorrow’s departure, not another island outing.
Day 14: travel to the airport and fly home. Leave the airline’s required time for check-in and any passport formalities. The separate return night is a planning buffer, not insurance against a multi-day sailing ban. If adverse weather is forecast, review the return sooner.
10 days: Athens and Naxos, nine nights
Use nights 1–2 in Athens, nights 3–8 on Naxos and night 9 back in the Athens area.
Day 1: arrive and settle in Athens. Day 2: explore the Acropolis area and nearby neighbourhoods. Day 3: ferry to Naxos and transfer to your base. Day 4: Hora and its castle streets. Day 5: Agios Prokopios or Agia Anna. Day 6: Halki or Filoti, with the return transport arranged. Day 7: a second beach day, with Plaka as an option. Day 8: keep a flexible day for Apeiranthos or a missed outing. Day 9: return to Piraeus and overnight in the Athens area. Day 10: fly home.
This version gives you five full Naxos days without adding an inter-island move. If Paros appeals more, use the same night allocation there, distributing the full days between Naoussa, Parikia, beach time and unplanned time.
7 days: Athens and one island, six nights
Use nights 1–2 in Athens, nights 3–5 on Naxos and night 6 back in the Athens area.
Day 1: arrive in Athens. Day 2: explore the Acropolis area. Day 3: ferry to Naxos and settle in. Day 4: choose Agios Prokopios or Agia Anna for a beach day. Day 5: choose either Hora and its castle streets or an inland village outing, depending on your base and transport. Day 6: return to Piraeus and stay in the Athens area. Day 7: depart.
You get two full island days. Do not divide those between Paros and Naxos: another checkout, port transfer and arrival would consume too much of the stay. A Paros substitution works better than adding Paros, using one full day around Naoussa and one around Parikia or a beach.
Where to base the island stays
On Naxos, choose Hora for a town-oriented stay or compare Agios Prokopios and Agia Anna for a beach-led base. On Paros, decide whether you want a Parikia- or Naoussa-focused stay. The day plan remains a set of outings from one room on each island; it does not require moving hotels within either island. Without a car, confirm the local services needed for the inland and beach outings before choosing a remote address.
Choose Paros or Naxos for a shorter trip
Compare beaches, village days, practical bases and total spending rather than an island-wide ranking.
