Which Sporades islands should you combine?
Skiathos and Skopelos are the most straightforward first shortlist if you want beaches plus a second island with a different town and village setting. Add Alonnisos when its harbour, old village and marine-park setting are a reason to stay, rather than a third name to collect. With a week, our recommendation is two overnight bases, not three hurried stops.
Skiathos has the airport; Skopelos lies between Skiathos and Alonnisos; Patitiri is the harbour and capital of Alonnisos. This makes a coherent regional holiday, but a line of islands on a map is not a confirmed ferry itinerary.

Volos or Mantoudi: choose the gateway before the rooms
Volos is the mainland starting point to investigate if you are coming through Thessaly or northern Greece. Aegean Flying Dolphins advertises its Volos–Skiathos–Skopelos–Alonissos corridor. That establishes an operator and route, not a departure on every future date.
For a trip beginning in Athens, compare an onward flight to Skiathos with an overland transfer to Mantoudi on Evia. SEAJETS describes Mantoudi and Volos as Skiathos gateways. Mantoudi’s ferry port is also called Kymasi; it is not Piraeus, and getting there is a separate part of the journey. Compare the entire Athens-to-room trip rather than the crossing alone. No direct Athens-port sailing is assumed here.

Ferries.gr publishes a Volos–Skiathos–Skopelos–Alonissos table covering 1 January to 31 October 2026, with separate summer and autumn patterns. It is an agency timetable, not live seat availability, and its stated end date does not certify November sailings or a future summer.
Skopelosweb describes Volos as the main winter corridor and Mantoudi as a reduced winter option. Treat that as regional orientation, not an operating calendar. A direct Thessaloniki departure is a seasonal possibility, not the default winter connection. For an off-season holiday, qualify both directions before choosing a multi-island stay; if the dates do not work, keep one island and more time there.

Skopelos Town, Loutraki (the port for Glossa village) and Agnontas are different arrival points. A ticket reading Glossa is not an arrival in Skopelos Town, and Glossa village itself is not the waterfront boarding point. Arrange the onward transfer against the exact ticketed port. Agnontas can also be used when conditions prevent a Skopelos Town call.
This matters in both directions: a room near Skopelos Town does not make a departure from Loutraki walkable. A change of port can affect the transfer even when the island name stays the same.

For a first visit, allocate three nights to Skiathos, three to Skopelos and the final night to Skiathos if you depart from its airport. Spend the first Skiathos days on the town and south-coast beaches; on Skopelos, give one day to the town and one to a coast or village outing. Return to Skiathos the day before the flight rather than coupling an island crossing to airport check-in. These are editorial night allocations, conditional on actual sailings.
With ten nights, a possible sequence is three on Skiathos, three on Skopelos, three on Alonnisos and one back on Skiathos. On Alonnisos, use Patitiri for harbour access and visit the old village separately. If the available ferries force short stays or an awkward return, drop an island rather than using every spare day for transfers.

Choose Skiathos alone if the priority is beaches and town dinners without several ferry days. Choose Skopelos alone if its villages and coast justify the airport-to-ferry transfer. Choose Alonnisos alone if you want to settle near Patitiri and explore at a slower pace. The marine park is a protected setting, not a promise of a seal encounter or unrestricted access to every islet.
Skyros belongs to the wider Sporades, but it is not treated here as another automatic stop on the Skiathos–Skopelos–Alonnisos corridor. Skopelosweb identifies Kymi as its gateway; Kymi and Mantoudi are different Evia ports.
