Take the Athens ferry to Parikia
For an Athens to Paros ferry, search the departure port explicitly and book arrival at Paros, whose main ferry port is Parikia. This guide uses Piraeus: Blue Star’s October 2026 notice documents the direct Piraeus–Paros leg before its onward Naxos call. You do not need to travel via Naxos to reach Paros on that itinerary.
Naoussa, Lefkes, Piso Livadi and Drios are onward island destinations, not alternative arrival ports for this crossing. Pounta port for Antiparos and Punda Beach are also different places. Keep Parikia as the meeting point when arranging pickup from the Athens ferry.
Blue Star: dated Piraeus–Paros route evidenceCrossing time: use the actual itinerary
A historical example gives the scale of the trip: Blue Star Delos was scheduled to leave Piraeus at 10:25 and arrive at Paros at 14:35 on 4 October 2026, a 4-hour-10-minute leg. Those were disruption-modified times and are not a timetable for another date. Read the duration, vessel and intermediate stops on the sailing you can actually book.
If comparing a faster vessel with a conventional ferry, compare the whole arrival day. A shorter crossing is less useful if its later arrival leaves you waiting for the last leg to Naoussa or the eastern coast. We have not verified a current bookable fare and do not quote a route-page minimum as your ticket price.
Source of the dated 4-hour-10-minute examplePiraeus or Rafina?
Piraeus is connected to Athens airport by Metro Line 3, suburban railway and the X96 bus. The airport gives indicative times of 60, 65 and 90 minutes respectively, before waiting, baggage collection and the walk to the ship. From a central Athens hotel, plan a direct trip to the correct port instead of travelling via the airport.
Rafina has a separate regional airport bus. Consider it only if a dated ferry search returns a usable Paros service; the existence of the bus does not prove the crossing. The airport’s own page gives conflicting regional-bus pickup descriptions, so use airport information on arrival to locate the stop rather than relying on a fixed exit number here.

For Blue Star website bookings, obtain your e-ticket through web check-in from 48 hours until two hours before sailing, and show it with ID or passport. The alternative is authorised port-agency collection at least two hours before departure. Save the issued ticket offline and make sure passenger names match identification.
The operator separately requires arrival at the embarkation area at least one hour before sailing. That is not permission to arrive at Piraeus station an hour before, or to postpone ticket collection until then. Other operators can have different procedures; apply the instructions attached to your actual ticket.
Blue Star: ticket issue and check-in windowsParikia or Naoussa after the ferry?
Parikia is the easier arrival choice if you want to leave your bags and stay in town without a road transfer. Get the exact accommodation address and walking route before disembarking. Naoussa suits travellers choosing a northern base, but it adds a separate bus or road transfer after the ferry. The municipality places the main Parikia KTEL station next to the port and lists the Parikia–Naoussa corridor.
For Lefkes and the east coast, distinguish the route through Kostos and Lefkes from the corridor via Naoussa. Both can serve eastern destinations, but they do not make the same village stops. Confirm your accommodation’s nearest stop rather than choosing any bus marked Drios.
Paros municipality: routes and port-side bus stationWhat a late arrival changes
The KTEL timetable inspected on 24 October 2026 is valid for 19–30 October 2026 only. During that period it lists the final Parikia-to-Naoussa departure at 20:00 and the final Parikia-through-Lefkes-to-Drios departure at 18:00. These are bus departures, not ferry-connection guarantees, and must not be carried into a different season.
If your ferry arrives near or after the last suitable bus, choose a confirmed road transfer or stay in Parikia. Allow time to disembark and reach the station; do not count a bus leaving at the ferry’s scheduled arrival time as a viable connection. For a late check-in, give the accommodation your vessel and expected arrival.

Compare the final ferry price for the passengers and seat category you need, plus any vehicle. Then add transport to the Athens departure port and from Parikia to your room. A foot passenger staying in Parikia has a different transfer budget from a family continuing to an eastern-coast property. Check whether the actual vessel can carry your vehicle before comparing car-inclusive fares.
If the ferry is your first connection after a flight, our recommendation is an Athens overnight when missing the sailing would be costly, especially before a morning departure. Do not treat an indicative airport-to-port journey time as a protected connection.
Compare Athens-area ports before bookingSeason limits and your next island
An early-October route notice establishes a dated service, not every winter sailing or next summer’s schedule. Search your exact departure date before fixing non-refundable rooms. Seajets’ overview is labelled 2026 and does not by itself verify a 2027 service. We do not promise daily departures or year-round frequency from either Athens-area port.
For an onward Naxos stay, use a separate Paros-to-Naxos ticket for your hotel-change date and depart from Parikia. For the return to Athens before an international flight, consider a mainland night as a buffer rather than relying on an unprotected same-day ferry connection.
Paros to Naxos: departure from ParikiaPick a base that fits the arrival
Compare Parikia with Naoussa and the eastern villages before selecting your ferry. For a short stay, avoiding a second transfer may matter more than shaving time off the sea crossing. For a longer beach stay, budget and arrange that transfer explicitly.
