Does the Mantoudi to Skiathos ferry work for your trip?
The Mantoudi to Skiathos ferry is a route to investigate when starting in Athens or Evia. You depart from Kymasi, the coastal ferry port associated with Mantoudi, and arrive at Skiathos Town. It works best when the road journey to Kymasi and the sailing both fit your travel date. It is not a ferry from Athens itself.
For a foot passenger, secure the Athens-to-port connection before treating this as the easiest way to Skiathos. For a driver, search with the vehicle included rather than assuming passenger availability means space for a car. If a suitable flight reaches Skiathos directly, compare its complete airport-to-room journey with the coach or drive plus ferry.

SEAJETS has a 2026 route-information section for the Sporades, Thessaly and Evia. Its public overview retrieved on 25 October 2026 did not supply a dated Mantoudi–Skiathos departure. Use Mantoudi as origin and Skiathos as destination in the carrier’s search, then compare the actual departure, arrival, vessel and vehicle availability for your day.
There is evidence of autumn operation, but it needs attribution: Skopelosweb’s update dated 16 October 2026 reports the Mantoudi connection operating twice weekly, initially with Sporades Star. That regional report does not establish the weekdays, a seat or the vessel on your chosen departure.
The Ferries.gr Speedrunner Jet 2 programme is explicitly dated 1 July–14 September 2026. It establishes a summer Mantoudi–Skiathos connection, not today’s departure or a fixed year-round crossing time. Do not carry its timings into winter or the next summer. If no sailing appears for your date, compare another travel day, Volos departures or a flight rather than booking accommodation around the expired table.
SEAJETS: 2026 route information and booking searchReach Kymasi port, not Mantoudi town or Kymi
Give a driver or transfer company Kymasi ferry port as the destination. You may also see Kymassi or Kymassio in travel information. Mantoudi town and the coastal boarding point are not interchangeable drop-offs. Kymi is a different Evia port; do not select it because its spelling looks similar.
Skopelosweb describes the KTEL Evias journey from Athens through Chalkida to Kymasi. It lists Rikaki 6 in the Liosion station area as the Athens boarding address. That is not Athens airport or Kifissos station. If arriving by air, reaching the coach departure is another leg before the overland journey begins.
The official KTEL Athens–Kymasi route page could not be retrieved during our check, so this guide does not quote a current coach departure or fare. The regional source describes coordination with selected ferries, not a matching coach for every sailing or a protected through-ticket. Ask KTEL Evias at +30 22210 20400 for the dated Kymasi-port service and boarding address. If the available service ends at Mantoudi town, arrange the missing town-to-port leg before buying the ferry.

Book the exact port pair, date and passenger names. SEAJETS requires passengers at the embarkation area at least 30 minutes before departure and vehicles at the loading area 60 minutes before departure. These are boarding requirements, not allowances for getting out of Athens, road delays or finding the quay. Plan the road arrival earlier.
Enter your actual vehicle when searching, and distinguish taking it to Skiathos from leaving it at Kymasi. A hire agreement needs separate permission for ferry carriage; a ferry ticket does not supply that permission. This guide does not certify long-stay parking security or a free parking entitlement at the port.
SEAJETS requires alternative-fuel vehicles to be declared when booking. Its current conditions limit fully electric and rechargeable-hybrid battery charge to 40%, and LPG/CNG tank fill to 50%. Use the carrier’s full instructions for the vehicle you will present. Keep the booking contact number usable, because timetable and vessel changes are announced through the carrier and booking system.
SEAJETS: boarding, vehicle and itinerary conditionsFrom the Skiathos ferry quay to your room
For a Skiathos Town stay, give your accommodation the ferry arrival and ask for the actual luggage route or collection point. Bourtzi separates the old and new port areas; a meeting described only as the harbour can be ambiguous. A central address can still involve lanes, steps or an uphill final approach.
For Megali Ammos, first establish whether the room is close enough for your party to walk with bags. For Troulos, Agia Paraskevi or Koukounaries, plan an onward coast transfer rather than treating arrival in town as arrival at the hotel. Skiathos Transports publishes its current routes and a stop-information system. Its winter timetable took effect on 12 October 2026; a summer claim of frequent late buses should not determine an October arrival plan.
Match the ferry’s scheduled arrival to that weekday’s bus sheet, allowing time to unload and reach the boarding point. If the useful bus has already left, arrange a taxi or accommodation collection. Ask a hillside property for its road access and nearest practical drop-off, not just the name of the beach below it.
Skiathos Transports: current routes and winter timetable noticeCompare the complete cost and arrange the return
Compare the ferry fare for your date and seat type with the Athens-to-Kymasi transfer and the Skiathos-to-room transfer. Add a vehicle fare if taking a car, or parking and collection costs if leaving it ashore. A low passenger fare alone does not show whether this journey is cheaper than flying or departing from Volos. No undated fare from a regional table is presented here as a current quote.
Settle the return from Skiathos separately, including the road journey after reaching Kymasi. An outward coach description does not prove a return coach at the ferry’s arrival time. If you have a separate Athens flight, our recommendation is to allow an overnight in Athens rather than treat the ferry, road transfer and airport journey as a protected connection.
If you are continuing to Skopelos instead of staying on Skiathos, compare a ticket to the relevant Skopelos port before choosing a transfer in Skiathos. Changing islands adds another dated sailing and another room-to-port journey; it is not automatically the simpler route.
