Give Naxos four nights and Paros three
For a Naxos and Paros itinerary, allow seven island nights: four on Naxos for Hora, a village outing and beach time, then three on Paros for Naoussa and Parikia or Lefkes. If arriving and leaving through Athens, the ten-day plan below adds one Athens night at each end. It has nine nights in total and five full island days.
These are suggested allocations, not a package or a bookable timetable. The plan suits travellers who want to stay on both islands, with one accommodation base on each. If you have only a week including international travel, pick one island rather than compressing the same outings.
The route: Piraeus to Naxos to Paros to Piraeus
The proposed sea legs are Piraeus → Naxos, Naxos → Paros and Paros → Piraeus. Blue Star’s early-October 2026 disruption notice records these ports and the Naxos–Paros corridor in both directions. It is historical route evidence, not live availability or a promise that the same services run in your chosen season.
Search all three directed legs for your dates before booking non-refundable accommodation. If Paros-first works better, reverse the island blocks while preserving the nights. If no useful inter-island sailing is offered, use one island rather than adding a detour through Athens.
Blue Star: dated route evidence, not a holiday timetableDay 1: arrive in Athens
Stay in the Athens area and leave the island journey for tomorrow. Use the evening for a meal and a short walk near your room, not a timed attraction or another connection. Choose the accommodation around the confirmed Piraeus departure and your arrival transport. This plan has no full Athens sightseeing day; add nights if the city is a priority. Overnight: Athens area.
Day 2: travel to Naxos and settle into one base
Take your confirmed Piraeus-to-Naxos sailing, then transfer to the room you will use for four nights. If you stay in Hora, keep the evening around the town. If you choose Agios Prokopios or Agia Anna, use the remaining daylight near that base rather than making a return trip into town immediately. Do not reserve an outing whose start depends on the ferry arriving exactly on time. Overnight: Naxos.
Day 3: Hora and one beach outing
Explore Hora’s castle streets before or after a beach visit, according to the heat, weather and transport. Agios Prokopios or Agia Anna gives you a straightforward beach focus; choose one rather than working through a list of stops. If you are staying at the beach, reverse the day and make Hora the outing.
The bus operator’s Agios Prokopios route page describes a departure terminal at the port and a coastal corridor serving Agios Prokopios, Agia Anna and Plaka. That establishes useful places to investigate, not current departure times. Overnight: Naxos.
Naxos Public Buses: town and beach corridorDay 4: Halki or Filoti inland
Make an inland village the day’s main outing. Halki and Filoti are both named in the official Naxos guide; choose one for a slow lunch and village streets, or combine them only with suitable transport. Keep Apeiranthos as an alternative rather than adding a third village automatically. This is not a hiking day and does not require a mountain ascent.
Arrange the return before travelling inland. The English Naxos bus timetable retrieved on 24 October 2026 was still headed 1–8 May 2026, so its times cannot establish a service for this trip. If current buses do not fit, use a prearranged transfer or replace the outing with more town time. Overnight: Naxos.
Naxos Public Buses: check the timetable validity datesDay 5: a full beach day on Naxos
Use Plaka, Agios Prokopios or Agia Anna according to the conditions and where you are staying. Leave the day largely open rather than moving between all three. Naxos’s sandy coast is one of the reasons for giving this island the longer stay. If beach weather fails, use Hora or the village outing you did not choose yesterday. Overnight: Naxos.
Visit Greece: Naxos beaches and inland villagesDay 6: ferry to Paros and an easy arrival
Check out, travel to the Naxos port and take the confirmed sailing to Paros. Treat the move as the day’s fixed activity. Parikia is the practical base if you want to settle near the port; a Naoussa stay adds a transfer but puts your evenings there. Leave a Naoussa or inland outing for a full day. Overnight: Paros.
Naxos to Paros: ports, boarding and arrival transfersDay 7: Naoussa, with optional coast time
Spend the main part of the day around Naoussa’s harbour and streets. From a Parikia base, make it a return outing; from a Naoussa base, you can keep the day more local. Add Kolympythres only if the transport and conditions leave enough time to enjoy it. A scheduled beach boat is not assumed.
Naoussa, Kolympythres and Parikia’s Panagia Ekatontapiliani are identified in the official Paros destination material. They give this block a different focus from the inland Naxos day without adding another island. Overnight: Paros.
Visit Greece: Paros places and coastDay 8: choose Lefkes or a slower Parikia day
For a village day, use Lefkes as the main outing, returning to your existing base rather than moving rooms. For less travel, spend the day in Parikia, with Panagia Ekatontapiliani as a possible stop after confirming current visitor access. Do not force Lefkes, Parikia and a remote beach into the last full day.
Paros KTEL’s timetable for 19–30 October 2026 lists both the Parikia–Naoussa corridor and the Parikia–Lefkes corridor. Those dates are explicit: they support the network example, not the departures for next summer or winter. Overnight: Paros.
Paros KTEL: dated timetable and named corridorsDays 9–10: return to Athens, then fly
Day 9: take your confirmed Paros-to-Piraeus sailing and stay in the Athens area. Choose the night’s location around the airport journey tomorrow, rather than trying to fit in another island activity.
Day 10: travel to the airport with the time your airline requires for check-in and border formalities. The return night reduces dependence on a same-day sea-and-air connection; it cannot protect against every multi-day weather disruption. Review the return sooner if conditions deteriorate. Overnight on day 9: Athens area.
Which Naxos base fits these days?
Hora is the simplest town-led choice, while Agios Prokopios and Agia Anna make the beach days easier. Compare the actual room location, luggage journey and evening return before choosing a beach address for a car-free trip.
Compare Naxos Town and the beach basesWhich Paros base fits these days?
Choose Parikia to keep the ferry arrival and bus connections together, or Naoussa if evenings there matter more than avoiding the extra transfer. Lefkes is an outing in this plan, not a third accommodation base.
Compare Parikia, Naoussa and other Paros basesShorter trip, longer trip or a different order?
For five island nights, an even split leaves only one or two full days per island; keep one island if you want a beach holiday with less packing. With extra nights, first add time for Athens, a spare Naxos village day or a slower Paros beach day before adding a third island. You can reverse Naxos and Paros if the dated crossings and rooms work better.
Plan the route, nights and booking orderStill deciding whether to visit both?
The two islands overlap in beaches and Cycladic town life. This itinerary is worth the move if you want Naxos’s inland outings as well as a Paros base around Parikia or Naoussa. If those differences do not matter to you, spend the seven nights on your preferred island.
